Our academy started its first practice in 2003, over the years, we have developed and worked with players of all levels, many have earned high ranking and played the top position for High School teams, College Tennis and a few even played professional tournaments. However, not until early 2014, we started our first USTA junior team (league tennis). Since, team tennis has become an essential part of our competitive player development. After 28 consecutive sectional championship titles, we know players can best benefit from our league team program to prepare themselves for higher level individual tournaments.
Here is our first League team, which played in the 10U division, we went undefeated to qualified for sectionals then comfortably winning the title.
Unlike many programs in the area, our league players are younger and not necessarily our stronger players. Although we have won many titles, we implement our league program to prepare players for higher level individual tournaments down the road.
This explains why we are highly competitive in the 10U and 12U divisions, once players competed in these programs and gained valuable experience, we encourage them to start participate in USTA individual tournaments as soon as possible. We do offer 14U league program, however, it is not the most competitive, it is for players who otherwise would not play individual tournaments. These 14U programs are good for players who would like to prepare and refine themselves for High School Tennis.
Moreover, many of our players who participated in the 10U and 12U program in the past are now competing at a high level on the USTA Junior tournament circuit. Many have earned sectional rankings in the 40s, 30s, 20s and even top 10. Some have earned national ranking.
Furthermore, the USTA has awarded our academy with Team Tennis program of the year in 2015 and 2016; and Program of the year in 2017. We understand the importance of Team Tennis for our players and their development. Throughout the year, our coaches seek out and encourage committed players to join our team tennis program, it is a great pathway to higher level Tennis. We are now in the middle of Winter but the Tennis Grind never stops, our players are still putting in the work to prepare for the next 3 seasons, which will start in March 2020. We will be ready and go NorCal!
